Brent’s Year as London Borough of Culture

In 2020 Brent was the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture. Our programme opened with RISE, a large-scale, outdoor performance, celebrating Brent’s history in front of Wembley Stadium. Weeks later, no one could have predicted that the world would be in the midst of a global pandemic. Despite this, the year saw audiences of over 800,000 enjoying events in person and online and over 15,000 participants helping to deliver the programme as volunteers, community advisors and co-creators.
